"Bear" Edward G Horton, of Battle Ground, WA, died on his 65th birthday in Vancouver, Washington.

He was born 12 Oct 1946, in Glendale, California, to Francis H and Dorita C (Chicas) Horton.

He served his country in the US Navy in the Vietnam War (1964-68). He worked 36 yrs as an electrician for So Cal Edison in Lancaster and Palmdale, CA. He retired to Battle Ground, WA to fish and enjoy his family. He enjoyed singing with Soma Voce at his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, Buddy & Julie Reeder, his sister, Patricia Wright, and his infant granddaughter, Mackenzie Hopkins.

He is survived by his wife of 42 yrs, Joanne (Reeder) Horton of Battle Ground, Washington; children Lisa (Randy) Fisher, Shelley Horton (Thomas Ford), Peter Horton, Anthony (Tracy) Horton, Taryn (Matthew) Hopkins, Stephen Horton, all of Battle Ground, Washington; grandchildren MM3 Nicholas Fisher (US Navy) of Charleston, South Carolina, Christopher Fisher, Kathlene Fisher, Rebecca Fisher, Tatiana Horton, Jamie Ford, Damien Ford, Kobe Ford, PFC Jared Euan (US Army) of El Paso, Texas, Jade Horton, Bailey Hopkins and Brodie Hopkins; siblings, James (Margareta) Horton of Oregon, Carol (Jerry) Sliwa of Texas, Susanne (Joseph) Schafer of Ridgefield, Washington, Jeanne (Kenneth) Carmack of Idaho, Frank (Crystal) Horton of Vancouver, Washington, David Horton of Idaho, Mary Williams and step-father Tyrone Williams, both of Vancouver, Washington; siblings-in-law, Gayle (Charles) Hotchkiss, Brenda Burns, Richard Reeder and Neil Reeder, all of California; and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Sacred Heart Church in Battle Ground, Washington, Friday, October 21, 2011. His final resting place is at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Battle Ground, Washington.
