Beverly Gail Horn Bowman, 63, of the Little Prater Section of Grundy, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, Va., following an extended illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy David and Nora Alice Asbury Horn. She was a resident of Buchanan County most of her life and was of the Church of Christ Faith. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and worked at the Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by her husband: Elmer Clinton Bowman, Grundy; three daughters: Cathy Gail and husband Charles Sutherland of San Angelo, Texas, Crystal Jill and husband John Taylor of Grundy, Susie Lenore Bowman of Gretna, Va.; one son: Jodie Bryan and wife Heather Bowman of Vansant, Va.; three sisters: Joyce Arlene Wolfe of Charlotte, N.C., Carol Elaine and husband Lowry Hall of Abingdon, Va., Deloris Mecca and husband Merman Franklin of Marshall, N.C.; four brothers: Donald Hawks of Grundy, Roy David Horn Jr. of Jewell Ridge, Va., Bill and wife Sonya Horn of Morris Hill, N.C., Bobby Horn of Greeneville, Tenn. Also, survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Ricky Lee Bowman and Steven Clinton Bowman.
Funeral services for Beverly Gail Horn Bowman will be conducted Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little Prater Church of Christ with Evg. Mike Rife and Evg. Bill Boyd officiating with burial to follow in Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va.
Friends may call at the Little Prater Church of Christ Friday (today) at 6:00 p.m. with services at 7:00 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be: Nephews, family and friends.
