John was an oarmaker at Hooten's Wharf, Fish St. Boston in 1789. In 1805 he was a wood warfinger on North St. residing in Prince St. In 1838 his residence was in Chelsea Mass.
His father was John Hooten born about 1673 in England also was made a Baron by Charles the second in 1614 in England. The first of the family came from Normandy, France and went North of England in the time of William the Conqueror. (His mother was named Ann but no last name.)
