Claudie LaVergne Hood was born January 30, 1920 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma where she lived from 1920 to 1939 and met and married George Allison Hood, June 3, 1939. She and George moved to and lived in Southern California from
1941 to 1975, when they moved to and lived in Oregon from 1975 to 2014.
After the birth of their first daughter, Joan, in 1940 she gave birth to 4 more children; a set of twins, Jean & Dean, another daughter, Allene and then a baby boy, Richard. While she was raising her children she worked at Norton Air Force Base on the assembly line. After leaving that job she became an Avon sales representative for 20 plus years. She was one of their top salespersons.
She and George came to know the Lord on Easter Sunday 1957 at Victoria Baptist Church in San Bernardino, CA and was a member there for many years. They moved to Oregon in 1975 and shortly thereafter became members of First
Baptist Church in Medford, OR until their deaths.
She had several hobbies, Bird watching, gardening, growing flowers, craft projects, jigsaw puzzles, games (lots of table games) and reading.
Preceded in death by her husband, George Allison Hood 2-2-2007; her mother, Martha Amanda (Gibson) Morgan Carlwe 2-25-1958; her father, James Thomas Morgan, Sr. 2-12-1931; her 8 siblings, Ticia, James, Pleasant, Ar Dee,
Welton, Paul, Alma, and Charles; one grandson, Timothy Scot Looper 2003; her second born daughter, Willia Jean Ivy 1-1-12; and one son-in-law, Bill Looper 8-14-12.
