|Death: ||Aug. 10, 1893|
Katie Theresa Holzbach--Died suddenly at the residence of her husband, No. 13 Coutts Street, August 10th at 10:30 A.M. Kate Theresa, beloved wife of Robert Holzback, in the 37th year of her age leaving a husband and nine children to mourn their irreparable loss.
Had He asked us, well we know
We should say, Oh spare the blow;
Yes, with streaming eyes should pray;
Lord we loved her, let her stay.
In love she lived, in peace she died,
Her life was asked, but God denied.
'Tis hard to break the tender cord
When love has bound the heart.
'Tis hard, Oh hard to speak the words,
We must forever part.
Mother, thou hast gone to rest,
And this shall be our prayer,
That when we reach our journey's end
Thy glory we may share.
None knew her but to love her;
None spoke of her but in praise.
Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from St. Peter's Cathedral this (Friday) evening at 5 o'clock. The Richmond Times Dispatch, Friday 11 August 1893, Page 1, Column 8.
