The Late Mrs. Thos. Ask
Mrs. Kari T. Ask, the honored and beloved wife of Thomas Trulson Ask, died January 16, 1907. She was born June 11th, 1835, in Jevnager, Hadeland, Norway, and emigrated to this country with her parents, John and Karen Anderson Holt, in June 1852. The family settled near Clear Mound, Clayton county, Iowa. Nov. 9th 1855, she was married to Thomas Trulson Ask, and the same year they moved on his farm in Amherst township, this county. Two years later they moved onto the farm in Preston township, where she resided until her death.
Fourteen children were born to them. Of these seven have preceded their mother into the great eternity. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Martin T. Ask of Pilot Mound, John T. Ask of Prosper, Mrs. C. P. Carlson of Morris, Mrs. Anton Dammen of Highland, Mrs. H. A. Ness of Lanesboro, and Thorvald and Miss Lizzie Ask who have been staying with the old folks. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren.
The funeral took place on Monday this week and was largely attended. Her remains were interred in the Elstad church cemetery. Rev. Kr. Magelssen of Bratsberg officiated at the funeral services at the house and at the church.
