FLORETTA HOLMES BALL, 91, of KEYPORT, died Sunday, March 2. Floretta attended and graduated from the local schools in Matawan. She later married the late Dr. Robert D. Ball from Keyport.

Floretta had a full life. Along with her late husband, the pastor of Union Baptist, Middletown, and Calvary Baptist, Red Bank, Floretta loved the church and its people. She was active in her home church in Keyport, "Second Baptist." She worked in the Sunday school and helped in all other organizations. She volunteered in the Pastoral Care Department of Bayshore Community Hospital for many years. Floretta was always pleasant and had a smile when you met her. Over her lifetime, she belonged to many clubs and organizations. She retired from Marlboro Hospital in 1981 but never stopped going.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Laura Holmes; three sisters, Laura, Elsie and Edith; and three brothers, Stanley, Clinton and Edward. Surviving are a grandniece, Patricia Gardner of Morganville, Marlboro; and a host of relatives and friends.

The viewing will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until her Homegoing Service at noon at Second Baptist Church, 205 Atlantic St., Keyport. The Rev. Robert Williams will officiate. Entombment will take place at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. Cofer Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.
