He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was born in Kinston and moved to New Bern in 1970. Jeffrey loved the water and loved to fish. He was a trim carpenter and worked for many contractors in the area. He is preceded in death by his father, Jasper Holmes, Jr. and his brother, Jay Lynn Holmes.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother and step-father, Shirley and James Inglis of New Bern; his fiance' Charlene Ensminger; two step-daughters, April Ensminger and Micki Cox all of New Bern; his uncle, Carroll Bunch and wife Linda and his aunt, Normaleen Holmes, all of Edenton and three step-grandchildren, Cierra Dawson, Madelyn Vogel and Austin Cox.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 8, 2010 at Cotten Chapel.
Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
