Peggy O'Neill (Vigus) Holloway was born September 20, 1938, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Roy L. and Opal G. (Thurman) Vigus. She grew up in Hutchinson and McPherson, with three brothers and two sisters. Her father worked in a Coca-Cola bottling plant, and later ran the Nesbitt's bottling company. Peggy graduated high school in Hutchinson.

Peggy met Vernon D. Holloway through the First Christian Church youth group in McPherson, and they married on June 3, 1956. The couple celebrated 56 years together in 2012. Peggy and Vernon were blessed with three children, Heidi, Carla, and Derrin.

Though she and Vernon are thought of as Pastors and counselors for most of their lives, Peggy was also a professional secretary earlier in her career, a voracious reader, and a published author of two books. Vernon and Peggy attended Rhema Bible Training Center from 1978-1980, and pastored Word of Faith Fellowship in McPherson for 24 years.

During their ministry together, Peggy and Vernon traveled to India, Thailand, Mexico, and Alaska many times; preaching the Gospel, establishing churches, praying for the sick, and training indigenous pastors. Their partnership(s) with India for Jesus, and other ministries, nationally, and internationally, broadened their ministry outreach and brought the Word of Faith message to new areas. Peggy had a special touch in counseling women from a wide variety of backgrounds and needs and was often able to speak into lives who would not receive from anyone else.

Her family will miss her deeply, but celebrate her new address in Heaven, and celebrate her impactful life on earth.

Peggy passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. She was seventy-four.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Vernon of the home; three children, Heidi Jantz and husband, Steve, of McPherson, KS, Carla Rowse and husband, Kevin, of Newton, KS, and Derrin Holloway and wife, Kayla, of Overland Park, KS; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Sandi Shelton, and husband, Rudy, of Kingman, AZ; a brother, Jim Vigus and wife, Frances, of Livermore, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank and Danny Vigus, a sister, Juanita Durbin, and a grandson, Michael Dean Rowse.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Kingdom Life Fellowship in Hesston. Private interment will take place at McPherson Cemetery on Saturday prior to the service. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
