Lee Ida Hairston was born to Clyde and Alice Holliman on November 5, 1938. She graduated from Rockdale High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Rockdale. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Eugene “Peanut” Hairston, and they shared almost 42 years together before he passed away in June, 2000. Together they operated Hairston’s Body Shop. She continued to run the business until November, 2014, when her health finally forced her into retirement. She sold the business to Neal Ferrell, Jr., a dedicated employee for more than 30 years, and he has continued her tradition of service as Ferrell Collision Center. She passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Cameron Nursing Center. At her request, she was immediately interred at the Keen Family Cemetery near Forest Grove. phillipsandluckey.com
