Mrs. Jessie Holley Burke, widow of Francis St. John Burke, teacher at the Palermo branch of Mexico Academy and Central school for the last six years, died last Saturday night at the home of Mrs Grace Gardiner, where she had lived for the last three years. She was daughter of Frank and Luella Ball Holley and married Mr. Burke Jan. 1 1910. He died in 1938. Mrs. Burke was a member Mexico Methodist church, Silas Town chapter D.A.R. and the New Century club and was a graduate of Mexico Academy. She is survived by a son Edmund Burke, Sp USN, who arrived home Tuesday; a brother-in-law, Glenn Wallace of Norwich; and an uncle Fred Buttes of Phoenix. Funeral services were Tuesday, Rev. Allan T, Dodge, pastor of Mexico Methodist church. Burial was in Mexico Village cemetery.
