In the 1900 U.S. Census, boat man James E. Davis, 60, born September 1840 in Canada, father born Virginia, mother born Canada, was living on Key Street in Eastport, Maine, with Elizabeth, 55, born December, 1845 in Canada, parents born Canada; and Charles E., 15, born September, 1885 in Maine.
The couple had been married for 36 years and four of Elizabeth's six children were still living
James moved to the U.S. in 1846.
