GREENVILLE - Natalie E. Ferland, 82, died February 4, 2013 at C.A. Dean Hospital in Greenville. She was born July 5, 1930, in Greenville, and was raised by her parents, Wilfred and Edith (Crossman) Holland.

She began working at the age of 13, waiting tables for her Aunt Sadie Crossman, and was proud to have been able to work until the age of 75. She was known as "The Cake Lady", and made cakes for all types of occasions. She was also known for her knitting, whether it was socks or sweaters.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd P. Ferland of Greenville Jct; a son, Durward Ferland and his wife, Patricia of Greenville Jct.; a daughter, Mary Ferland of Greenville Jct; grandchildren, Kevin Canders and his wife, Elizabeth and their 2 children, Max and Ava all of NJ, Lisa Henderson and her husband, Carl and their son, Cory all of Greenville Jct, Durward Ferland Jr. of Portland, and David Ferland and his companion Mia Boucher-Shaw, and their daughter, Haley all of Greenville Jct.; sister-in-law, Bernice Canders of Greenville; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael Canders; 3 brothers, Roland, Hartley, and James Durward; and a sister, Olive McBriety.
