Arriving in Vietnam 8 March 1967, Robert was assigned to C Company 1/5 Mech Bobcats, 25th Infantry Division, USARV.
On June 14, 1967, the battalion conducted roadrunner operations in the vicinity of Bao Trai. C Company conducted combined security operations with one platoon of the 2/49th Infantry (ARVN) on the road running between Duc Lap and Duc Hoa. An APC from C Company detonated a mine. Two Bobcats were killed by the blast.
Survived by his parents, Leonard Franklin and Irma B Holland of P.O. Box 458, Golden, Texas.
