Jefferson M. Holder, 74, of 621 E. Oglethorpe Ave. was dead on arrival at Memorial Medical Center Wednesday after an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Johnson County and had lived in Chatham County 17 years. He attended the Inner City Methodist Church and was employed with the Georgia Pacific Plywood Corp. until his retirement in 1954. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Evie Mae Peeples of Savannah; two sons, William Z. Holder of Pooler and Romie D. Holder of Garden City; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Lee of Kite and Mrs. Hattie Smith of Macon; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church near Kite. Fountain Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church near Kite, Ga, with Rev. Sammy Clark and Rev. Jack Holder officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will be taken to the church 10 a.m. Friday.
