EASLEY, SC - Olean Holcombe Brooks, 90, of 103 Cleveland Street, wife of the late George Frank Brooks, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Ola Riddle Holcombe, Mrs. Brooks retired from Poinsett Manufacturing Company of Greenville and was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Boyce "B.F." Brooks of Lake Murray (Leesville) and Larry Brooks of Easley; two daughters, Hazel Brooks of Easley and Maxine Steed of Dacusville; a brother, Melmoth Bodie Holcombe of Greenville; a sister, Etta Holcombe of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by a brother, Bradley Holcombe; and by four sisters, Rose Lee Lyda, Lou Nettie Ward, Geneva Moody and Alice Ruth Chappell.

Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Phillip J. Lovell, Rev. Bobby Caldwell and Rev. Boyce Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Landmark Baptist Church, 116 Landmark Court, Easley, SC 29640.

The family is at the residence.
