Mrs. Darcus Estelle Gore, age 82, died Saturday, August 16 at Hillcrest Hospital in Calhoun City. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 17 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Bro. A C Gore officiating.

The daughter of the late Robert Hoke and the late Amanda Lou Carson, she was a retired homemaker. She was the widow of the late Yancy Bingham Gore and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was born in Webster County.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lou Ella Callahan of Houston; one son, Samuel L (Buddy) Gore of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Maude Streeter of Woodland; two brothers, Whitt Hoke of Blytheville, Arkansas and Terry Hoke of Isola; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Bill Gore, Johnny Gore, Larkin Gore, Benjamin Gore, Dale Callahan, Donald Callahan, David Callahan, Larry Gore, John Callahan and Robbie Gore.

Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
