BALLER, Mary Eleanor (Hohman), 79, lifelong resident of Elm Grove and most recently of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center.
Eleanor was born May 4, 1928 at Wheeling, the daughter of the late Bernard and Irene (Olah) Hohman.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a volunteer for the Ohio County Senior Center and Family Services, where in 2004, she received recognition as being volunteer of the year.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Baller, her sister Catherine Breiding, and her grandson Baron Christopher Johnson.
Eleanor is survived by her four daughters, Carol (Baron) Johnson of Warwood, Rose (Jeffrey) Frasher of Wheeling, Jolene Baller of Buffalo, New York, Rebecca Samara of Boston, Mass.; her three sisters, Joan Hohman and Margie Burke, both of Wheeling, Sally Semancik of Bridgeport, Ohio; her five brothers, Richard Hohman of Wheeling, Tom Hohman of Triadelphia, Paul Hohman of Avon Lake, Ohio, Leo Hohman of Charlotte, NC, Jim Hohman of Wheeling; her grandchildren, Erin Vogrin, Melissa Tiu, Rebecca Kostival, Joseph Swarthout, Joshua and Benjamin Samara; her great grandchildren, Baron, Chloe, Lilyana and Griffin Vogrin, and Luke Tiu.
