KINSLEY — Agnes R. Birzer, 96, died April 14 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Dodge City. Born Aug. 30, 1913, in Minneola, she was the daughter of John and Clara (Weikert) Hoffman. She married Albert J. Birzer on April 23, 1941, in Seward. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2002.
Survivors include four daughters, Janey Clark and husband David of Norman, Okla., Betty Peterson and husband John of Hugoton, Rebecca Hornung and husband Norber of Offerle and Ella Haskell and husband Mike of Kinsley; a brother, Robert J. Hoffman and wife Betty of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Offerle. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church with the Rev. John Strasser presiding. Burial will be at the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Kinsley.
