Nellie M. Hollinger, 72, RD4, Newville, died Sunday in Carlisle Hospital.

She was born in Upper Mifflin Township and was a daughter of the late Albert C. and Bena Frey Hocker. She was the widow of Eugene M. Hollinger.

She was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School. She and her late husband owned and operated Hollinger Auto Supply, Newville.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Carlisle and was a charter member and served as First Worthy Matron and secretary of the Oswald Taylor Chapter 540, Order of the Eastern Star, Newville. She was past president of the Past Matrons Association of District 14, Order of the Eastern Star, and Secretaries Association of District 14, Order of the Eastern Star. She was former district deputy grand matron of the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Samaria Shrine, Gettysburg; Newville Historical Society; Cumberland County Historical Society and Hamilton Library; American Association of Retired Persons in Shippensburg and Newville Golden Age Club. She was active in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and was recipient of the Grand Cross of Colors.

She is survived by four brothers, Albert C. Hocker, RD4, Newville; Frank E. Hocker, John H. Hocker and Michael Hocker, all of Carlisle; five sisters, Lillian A. Trexler, RD5, Shippensburg; Marguerite P. Bender, Newville; Ruth E. Black, Carlisle, and Bena G. Zimmerman and Carolyn H. Kough, both of RD2, Newville and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Walter J. Chantry officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call Tuesday at the Funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. where the Oswald Taylor Chapter 540 Order of the Eastern Star, Newville, will hold a memorial service at 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 117 N. Hanover St., Carlisle 17013.
