Also surviving are his children, Patrick Hockenbury, Jennifer Hockenbury, Don (Lisa) Owens, Frank (Amanda) Owens and Michelle (Kevin) Leggons; his brothers, Gene (Emy) Hockenbury, Linden (Susie) Hockenbury and Bill (Pat) Hockenbury; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two sisters.
He was a United States Army veteran. He received a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam.
He was a machinist for Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 2003.
