lena E. "Betty" Hissom, 92, of Charleston, passed away May 20, 2016 at Teays Valley Center.
Betty was a Christian and member of Northside Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara (Helms) Taylor.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Paula Silverman-Smith and husband, Mike of Hurricane; son, Stephen Hissom and wife, Susie of Elkview; sister, Louise Bynum of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Beth Wagner and husband, John, John Silverman and wife, Amanda, Debbie Hissom and Stephen Hissom and wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Madison, Brooke and David; two additional great-grandchildren due to arrive later this year; and special friend, Kathy Nettles. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 23, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor John Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday also at the funeral home.
