Deseret News, Tuesday, Jan. 6 1998. Obituary: Echo Webster Hinsch, 89, passed away Jan. 3, 1997. Born June 16, 1908 in Cedar City, Utah to John J.G. and Eliza Ann Urie Webster. Married Donald Tarleton Hinsch, September 3, 1931 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death, March 26, 1971. Member LDS Church. Went to New York as a young woman to study costume design. Resided in Great Neck, NY for over 60 years, returning to live in Utah, October 1996. Employed with Lord and Taylor Department Store into her 88th year. Loved and admired by all who knew her.

Survivors: nephews, Howard and Paul Wood, James Dixon, Richard, Daniel, Antone, Garth and Reed Webster; nieces, Marjorie Svendsen, Mary Olds, Louise Turner, LuJean Trammell, Joye Petersen, Joan Brockbank and Shirley West.

Preceded in death by sisters, Kathleen, Sarah, Ruth, Gwen and Clara; brothers, John, Parson, Wilford and Daniel; nephews, John Jr., Theodore, Francis and Wayne. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 8, 1998, 11a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 S. 1700 East, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Internment: Flushing, New York.

Echo Urie Webster (John James Godson2, Francis1). Echo Urie Webster, the youngest child of John James Godson Webster and Eliza Ann Urie, was born on June 16, 1908 in Cedar City Utah. She attended the University of Utah, and she later went to New York City to study at the Fashion Academy. While in New York City, she met Donald Tarliton Hinsch, and she married him in Salt Lake City on September 3, 1931. Donald was born on January 28, 1900 at Flushing, New York. He attended flushing High School and later attended the New York Nautical School. During World War II, he was a Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard. Echo and Donald are living in New York City, where Donald is operating an auto parts store. Many people tell of Echo's sincere hospitality and friendliness.
