Polly Hilton was one of the most notable women in the town. With good judgment, quick perception, active sympathy and a lively interest in the political, moral and religious movements of her day she was generally the central figure in the social gatherings of her friends, and a source of inspiration to many young people who were striving to be and to do. >History of the Town of Andover, NH, p421.

Other than the three children shown on this page, there were two others:
•Susan Smith was born August 1, 1840. She married 1st Walter Scott Thompson, May, 1859 and married 2nd Herman E Fay in 1873.
•Mary Ann was born August 24, 1845. She married Rufus G. Burleigh of Franklin who died Sept. 27, 1907. There were no children.
