Marian Gean Anderson 77, of Moscow, Idaho passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 in the presence of her loving husband and daughters. She was born July 23, 1932 in Mammoth, Utah to Charles and Mary Harker Hillman. She attended high school in Idaho Falls and Rigby, Idaho.
Marian had eight brothers and sisters with one living brother, Gary Hillman of Rigby, Idaho. She has many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren: April and Joshua Morrow, Ely, Kaleb and Karian Fowler all of Moscow, Idaho and Ian Smart of Olympia, Washington. She had three great grandchildren; Kalyleigh, Jake and Antonio that brought her much joy and happiness.
Marian married Jimmy Lloyd Anderson August 26, 1949 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three children: Eddy, Lorie and Alyson. Eddy died at the age of twelve in Wenatchee, Washington. After living in several locations they moved to Moscow, Idaho in 1969.
Marian loved working in the clothing business and owned and operated the Parisian, a women's boutique in downtown Moscow for several years. She was a gourmet cook and loved entertaining family and friends. There was always room for another place setting at her table. She also enjoyed playing golf, bridge, traveling to new places, Friday lunches with the ladies and reading a good book. She was a member of the Moscow Elks Club and the Daughters of the Nile.
Marian loved to laugh and was nicknamed "Funny" by her friends. Marian was also affectionately called "The Queen" by her friends and family. Marian loved talking to people and her open heart and mind will be missed, yet her presence will always be there. She is survived by her husband, Jim Anderson, daughter and son-in-law Alyson and Kris Fowler, and daughter Lorie Anderson, all of Moscow.
A Celebration Of Life for Marian will be Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Silver and Gold Rooms at the University Inn-Best Western. Personal remembrances will begin at 6:00 PM. A private burial will be at the Moscow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marian and Jim Anderson Athletic Scholarship Endowment in care of VSF University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho.
