Alfred C. Hill, aged 58 years passed away at Memorial Hospital last Friday after an illness of 10 days with sleeping sickness. Mr. Hill was born in Canada and came to Canandaigua about 30 years ago.
On March 1 he would have completed 22 years service as rural mail carrier from the local Post Office having been appointed when the new system was 1st established in 1901.
He is survived by his two daughters, Miss Marguerite Hill of Canandaigua, and Mrs. Leo H. Breen of Santiago, Cuba, two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Sara McClane of London, England, Mrs. Thomas Stewart of Kilwood Manitoba, Canada, Charles Hill of Canandaigua, Alex Hill of Toronto, and Brian Hill of Bristol, VA. Funeral services will be held following the arrival of his daughter, Mrs. Breen from Santiago. Quarter Master Sgt. and Mrs. Breen are expected to arrive in NY on Tuesday.
