Coy N. Hill, 84, of Florence, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012.
He was a longtime member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, where he taught classes and served many years as an elder. Mr. Hill was a U.S. veteran of World War II, having served in the Merchant Marines, and was retired from Reynolds Metals Co.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Jackson Heights Church of Christ, with Ronnie Pannell and Ken Delano officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude C. Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Lurene Hill; son, Doug Hill (Nancy); daughters, Mary Riley (Jim), Susan Freeze (Doug); stepchildren, Candy Bratcher and Ryan McKinney (Tammy); grandchildren, Jeb Balentine (Jennifer), Josh Balentine, Lara Belle-Isle (Justin), Zach Freeze (Erin), Rodney Hill (Mamie), Katie Hill and Jessie Bratcher; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include Jeb Balentine, Josh Balentine, Zach Freeze, Rodney Hill, Keith Morris and Ryan McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present elders of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.
