Funeral services for Betty Baldwin have been scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Woodlake Assembly of God in Tulsa. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Betty Gwendolyn Hicks Baldwin was born Sept 23, 1934, in Belton South Carolina, left us to be with the Lord Saturday, May 24, 2008. Betty was the daughter of Clyde Woodrow and Lula Bell (Singleton) Hicks.

She was an incredible person. Wonderful wife, married on November 5, 1953 in Abbeville, South Carolina to Lannes Baldwin, Jr, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2006. Loving mother of 4: Debbie and husband Ray Lunsford, Oklahoma City, Gary Mark Baldwin, Oklahoma City, Cindy and husband Lonnie Liggitt, Claremore, and Michelle and husband Joe Malay, Wichita Falls, Texas. Endearing grandmother of 7 grandchildren, Daniel, Gary, Stacy, Jennifer, Chad, Cory, and Lee Ann, and 5 great-grandchildren, Rochelle, Levi, Anna Beth, Alexander, and Mira. Loving big sister of Clyde Hicks of Sommerville, TX, and LaVerne Meyers of Charlotte, NC.

Betty was a Faithful member of Woodlake Assembly of God Church in Tulsa. She was an incredible nurse, a graduate of Oklahoma University, providing the best of care to patients for 31 years in VA clinics and hospitals in Oklahoma City, Springfield, Missouri, Battlecreek, Michigan, Muskogee and Tulsa. She also cared for those in need around the world by participating in short-term medical missionary trips. Betty was an amazing patient to the Hospice staff caring for her these last few months. She had such an outstanding way of demonstrating her love and loyalty to her family and many life-long friends sending notes, cards, and gifts, and by showing her true Southern hospitality and caring spirit to any and all. She will be so very missed by many, many people.
