rs. Mary Julia (Judy) Gardner Hicklin, age 86, died peacefully on Saturday, February 25th at Harborchase of Rock Hill. She was born on August 30, 1930 to the late Mary Jackson and Guy Allen Gardner. Judy was happiest when spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed reading, walking, dancing, and baking cheese rings. She loved well and was well loved in return. Judy worked for 37 years, from 1963 to 2001, as the secretary of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. She greeted all who entered with a smile, took care of their needs, and gladly served the staff and her Lord. She always looked forward to attending church on Sundays for worship, fellowship, and Bible study.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 10:30 AM at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 201 East White Street, Rock Hill, SC with Drs. Barry Dagenhart and Robert J. Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the parlor.

Judy is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jack Hicklin; son, Strait Hicklin of San Diego, California; daughter, Judy Haas and husband Don of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandson, Brian Haas of Knoxville, Tennessee; granddaughter, Lindsey Turner and husband John of Richmond, Kentucky; great granddaughters, Campbell and Conley; and brother, Bob Gardner and wife Peggy of Rock Hill.

The family thanks the staff at Harborchase of Rock Hill Memory Care who loved Judy and took care of her with respect and dignity. In addition, service provided by Provident Hospice staff were very much appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church General Fund, 201 East White Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or Bonclarken's Today and Tomorrow Campaign, Bonclarken Conference Center, 500 Pine Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
