She was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Minnie Leftwich Heslop and the widow of Frederick Q. Brown. Her brothers, William and Robert, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Susan DeVan, Douglas Brown and Katherine Lashley (Tom), all of Charleston, and two grandchildren, Buck DeVan of Baltimore, Md., and William DeVan of Charleston.
She was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was instrumental in the operation of the Opportunity Shop.
A formal memorial service will be held at a later date, where she will be interred in the St. John's columbarium.
