A. J. Herring, of Elkton, Dies

ELKTON. April 17-—Albert Journey Herring, 79, well known resident and retired farmer of the Elkton community, died Saturday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Warren Shelton, in Baltimore. where he had been making his home for some time. His wife, the former Elizabeth Herring, died in 1951. Since then, Mr. Herring had been making his home with his daughters. He had been in failing health for years. Surviving are his three daughters, Mrs. Warren Shelton of Baltimore; Mrs. Sherman Shinn of Richmond, and Mrs. William Triggs of Shenandoah; and one brother. Samuel Herring of Elkton. He also leaves nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Brill funeral home with the Rev. S. J. Westfall of the EUB Church officiating. Burial will be in Elk Run cemetery. The family will meet at the home of Mrs. Triggs in Shenandoah at 1:30. The pallbearers will be: Melvin, Ernest. Rudolph and Osby Herring. Jessie Sipe and Howard Shifflett.
