HENSLEY, Doris Bell Childs, 87, Memphis, died August 16, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. She was born October 12, 1923 to Deck and Caroline Richardson Childs in Ripley. She was a retired insurance representative, a member of Grand Heights Baptist Church and former member of Lowry Methodist Church in Ripley. Services were August 19 at 12:30 pm at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lowry Cemetery. Bro Elmer Paseur and Rev Neil Bick officiated.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Hensley and David Hensley, both of Memphis; one brother, D.A. Childs, Ripley; two grandchildren, Christi Stavely (Joel) and Neil Weaver (Kristi), both of Memphis; 8 ggrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lacy Hensley; her parents; one daughter, Debby Holland; one son, Jerry Hensley; four sisters, Bluma Pittman, Thelma Thurmona, Gertrude Yancey and Olean Kuykendall; three brothers, Allen Childs, Harlon Childs and Grady Childs. Pallbearers were Danny Childs, Kenneth Childs, Johnny Childs, Butch Carmichael, Wade Carmichael and Danny Shackelford.
