Mrs. Alice Mary Henschke died at 5:20 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. William E. Smith, Irishtown, at the age of 66 years, two months and 21 days. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Martin and is survived by the following children: Harry Henschke, Mrs. William E. Smith and Charles Henschke, Irishtown, and Lawrence Henschke, Brushtown. One sister, Miss Katie Martin, McSherrystown, and two brothers, George Martin, Irishtown, and Jervis Martin, Mt. Joy, also survive. She was a member of the Cigar Makers Union, McSherrystown. Funeral services Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at Conewago Chapel with the Rev. John O'Donell officiating. Interment at Conewago cemetery.
After Alice's husband Henry Henschke died (7/11/1858 - 7/3/1887) Henry's brother, John C. Henschke, was appointed guardian of Henry and Alice's four minor children Annie, Charles, Lawrence and Harry Henschke.
