Annie Laurie (Gibb) Henry, formerly of McMullen County, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the age of 86. Mrs. Henry was born in Three Rivers in Live Oak County on September 23, 1924. She was graduated from Charlotte High School, Charlotte, Texas in 1940. She spent most of her life occupied as a homemaker, taking care of her family as well as numerous others in her extended family. She was always there to lend a helping hand and spent countless hours taking care of others and making sure everybody got to the doctor when they needed to. Mrs. Henry was very interested in the family's genealogy, and collected historical books about McMullen County. She also loved to cook, and during her lifetime put together an impressive collection of cookbooks and recipe boxes overflowing with dog-eared favorites. She was very fond of her entire family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, James Roscoe ("Rocky") Henry; her father, Jerry Collins Gibb; her mother, Aminda Laura ("Minnie") Franklin Gibb; and her brother, Walter Gibb. She is survived by her sister, Frances Jean Herman of Victoria, Texas; her sons, James Collins Henry and wife Terry of Victoria, Texas, and Jerry R. Henry and wife Donna Sue Henry of Karnes City, Texas; her grandchildren, James Henry, Micah Henry, Jeremy Henry, and Brooke Henry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will include Frank Franklin, Jr.; Harvey Franklin; Roger Armentrout; Tommy Scogin; John Mike Scogin; and Pat Scogin. Visitation will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Texas on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 PM; funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 3:00 PM, with interment immediately following at the Hilltop Cemetery in Tilden, Texas.
