DODGE CITY - Christopher Michael "Topher" Henderson was born on March 28, 2003, in Dodge City, KS, on the two year anniversary of mommy and daddy's first date. Matt and Cori Blakeslee Henderson were ecstatic to bring their little boy home. He couldn't be any more loved by his family.

On February 2, 2004, Christopher was diagnosed with multiple disabilities. It was difficult to hear, but he had a purpose and his diagnosis was part of God's plan. He became our little Superman. His family moved to be closer to all his new found doctors. He started at infant/toddler program, then graduated to preschool at the Early Education Center, Hutchinson. He was so excited to start kindergarten in the fall of 2008, at South Hutchinson Elementary. Everyone who met Christopher loved "Tophers." He was loved in the morning by his parents, sent on the bus with loving drivers and was met at school with phenomenal teachers and therapists. We had complete confidence and admiration in his medical professionals, nurses, support team and two loving home nurses. On February 3, 2010, on the anniversary of Christopher's first fight in the hospital our Superman put on his cape and flew to be with Jesus after a valiant battle.

He is survived by his parents, Nickerson, grandparents, Wayne and Linda Henderson, Partridge, Jesse and Pam Ramos, Dodge City, Mark and Denise Blakeslee, Nickerson; lots of loving great-grandparents Ray and LaVera Henderson, Carl and Vada Lewis, Don and Sonja Taylor, Barbra Gould, Don and Marjorie Blakeslee, Arlene Welch; and supportive Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, Taryn, Zach and Diesel Bergen, Pete, Kayla, ShaiLynne, BrookeLynne and JosiLynne Blakeslee, Chance Hertel, Whitney Blakeslee, Ashleigh and Clint Harris. He was preceded in death by Grandpa James Hartline, Grandma Marcey Henderson
, Aunt Cassie Elizabeth Blakeslee and Grandpa Bill Harvey.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Reverend R. Samuel Askew presiding. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to South Hutchinson Elementary School, or the Early Education Center, Hutchinson both in care of Elliott Mortuary. Visit www.elliottmortuary.com to leave a personal condolence for his family.
