Besides her family, Julia's other joys included sewing hundreds of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, quilts, her own Jewel doll, chickens, making shell vases and many other crafts. She always kept her hands busy and productive even up to her 100th birthday.
Julia is survived by her five children, Vivian Jane Taylor of West Plains, Mo., Eileen Charlotte (John) Wuolle, Betty Ruth Fleming, Athens, Texas, William Robert (Mary) Anderson of Banning, Richard Thomas (LaVerne) Anderson of Las Vegas, Nev.; 23 grandchildren, Charlotte Shearer, Melanie Jacobson, Dale Taylor, Marsha Hodge, Scott Taylor, Linda Gaasrud, Martin, Jack and Kevin Wuolle, Sandra Jewell, Michael, Pat and Timothy Fleming, Peggy Cottier, Deborah Anderson Bjorndalen, Madrienne Johnson, Andrew Anderson, Diane Anderson Hicks, Mary Anderson Kushi, Susan Tripp, Peter Tripp, Nancy Greer and Blake Anderson; 45 great-grandchildren, Julie, Kimberly, Cheryl, Emily, Jamie, Kristopher, Steven, Alex, Kayln, Kyle, Arron, Kimberly, Heather, Erin, Kristina, Timothy, Thad, Daniel, Della, Frank, Benjamin, Andreea, Lauren, Quinn, Tonja, Katherine, Joey, Nathan, Matthew, Ryan, Daniel, Rain, Cody, Debbie, Billy, Chris, Tiffany, Amber, Ozzie, Tyler, Torrey, Trevor, Nathan, Christi, Alexis; 15 great-great grandchildren, Stephanie, Sabrina, Bryce, Hannah, Timothy, Taneisha, Marquell, Ashley, Jessica, Brittany, Bethany, Brianna, JoAnne, Caitlin, Brittany; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and a special niece, Kathryn Lee.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Nels; twin infant sons; five sisters; two brothers; a son-in-law; two grandsons and one great-grandson preceded Julia in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2002, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stoddard. Pastor James Krueger will officiate, with burial in Stoddard Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Seland Funeral Home, Coon Valley, is in charge of arrangements.
