Irene F. Bartholomew, 87, of Allentown, died May 14, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit. She was the widow of the late Floyd F. Bartholomew, Jr. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lillian (Leh) Heiney.
She was a secretary for Sarco Company of Allentown until retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Emmaus Moravian Church where she served as a sacristan and was a 50-year member of the Kings Daughters. She was a member of the Allentown YMCA for over 30 years where she volunteered as a lifeguard and taught numerous children how to swim.
Survivors: Son, David P. Bartholomew of Allentown; brother, Gilbert Heiney of Allentown; sisters, Louise Heiney of Allentown and Janet Tomasko of Macungie; granddaughter, Molly L. Bartholomew of Orlando, FL.
Services: Funeral Services Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Emmaus Moravian Church, Main Street and Keystone Ave., Emmaus. Viewing 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Schantz Funeral Home, Inc., Emmaus is in charge of arrangements.
