Longtime Nolan Resident Succumbs

Sweetwater - Funeral for Mrs. W. C. Barton, 90, Nolan community resident for 68 years, was to be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Nolan Baptist Church.

The Rev. Jimmy Kinsey, pastor, and the Rev. Willie Howell of Abilene were to officiate. Burial was to be in the Nolan Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barton died Monday at 3 p.m. in Simmons Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.

She was born April 6, 1871 in South Carolina. Her husband died in Nolan in 1942.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. L. H. Hollowell of Abilene, Mrs. William Bennett of Pampa, Mrs. Jim Modrall of Sweetwater, Mrs. Lillie Helms and Mrs. Onis Helms, both of Hamlin, and Mrs. E. C. Womack of Slaton; six sons, Will of Post, A. A. of Levelland, Paul of Lubbock, Nolan, C. W. and H. T., all of Sweetwater; one brother, A. O. Hefner of Clarendon; 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
