Clyde Hedrick, 83, of West Salem, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem, with Rev. Steve Heitkamp officiating.

Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.

Memorials may be made to Edwards County Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Hedrick was born Sept. 28, 1914, in West Salem, the son of Ross and Nellie (Markman) Hedrick. He married Alice Howard Sept. 6, 1942, in Bone Gap. She preceded him in death Oct. 10, 1968.

He was a WWII Army veteran in the Signal Aviation Warning Batallion. He was a farmer and worked at Champion Labs. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem.

He is survived by one son, John Hedrick and his wife, Barbara, of Galena, Mo.; one daughter, Ruth Ile and her husband, Don, of Albion; one brother, Melvin Hedrick, of St. Louis; one sister, Mary Scranton, of West Salem; and two granddaughters, Heather Hedrick and Donna Ile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Helen Fugate, and a brother, Allen Hedrick.
