WOMAN KILLED IN I-135 CRASH

A Wichita woman was killed and her husband critically injured when their car collided with another Friday evening on I-135, the Canal Route. Both cars were trying to avoid another accident.

The dead woman, who was thrown from the car in which she was riding, was identified as Lillian M. Alley, 58, of 3348 Bellaire. She was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Robert, 57, who was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where he was in critical condition with chest injuries.

The driver of the other car, Cherrie J. Glymph, 27, of 621 N. Grove, was not injured. She was being questioned by the Kansas Highway Patrol late Friday.

LILLIAN MAXINE "MICKEY" ALLEY, 58, of 3348 Blair, saleswoman for Village Square Dress Shop, died Friday of injuries received in an automobile accident. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, Zion United Methodist Church.

Survivors: husband, Bob; son, Craig of Benton; daughters, Collette Jones of Wichita, Kristie (sp) Alley of Los Angeles; mother, Maud Glaze, sister, Phyllis Glenn, both of Wichita; and half-sister, Orva Heaton, Indianpolis, Indiana. Memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Downing & Lahey Mortuary.
