Tensie L. Cooper, 81, of North St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

She was born in Collinsville, MS, daughter of the late Jeff and Velma (Lewis) Hearn, an entrepreneur who was co-owner of Cooper's Service Station, owner of Designer Clothes Outlet and Cooper's Deli, and worked part-time at Boscov's.

Tensie was a former member of St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Choir, the Nurse's Unit, and the Henley Gospel Chorus; a member of Baptist Fellowship Church, where she served on the Choir and the Pulpit Guild. In her leisure, she was a caretaker for many people, loved fashions & to shop, loved to cook & made potato salad for the church for many years.

Tensie also loved to garden, sew and knit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Tanessa R. Morrison and Cynthia Cooper Ernest, and her brother, Joe A. Hearn.

Tensie leaves to celebrate her life, her husband, Edward Randolph Cooper; her daughter and son-in-law, Belinda C. and Ross Baker of Pennsauken, NJ; her grandchild, Chazarae Ernest; her great-grandchild, Chy´mere Willis, both of Harrisburg; her step-grandchild, Christopher Baker of Lompoc, CA; her sisters, Velmar Louise White, Edwean Thames, and Peggy A. Reed, all of Collinsville, MS; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norman E. and Vivian Cooper of Harrisburg; her sister-in-law, Ola Mae Hearns of Collinsville, MS and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tensie's life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3 at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of The First Baptist Church of Steelton, 1850 S. 19th St., Harrisburg with viewing 9:00 until 11 a.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
