She was born July 31, 1927, in Monongalia County, daughter of Hildred Amanda Smith Hayhurst, of Fairmont, and the late Ivan Hayhurst.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper at World of Plants and Flowers until she became ill. She also worked for the Marion County Health Department. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and was an active member of the Meadowdale Un ited Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Civic League Department of the Women's Club in Fairmont, H&H Chapel, and was the pianist for the church. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, music, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is also survived by her husband, Jack L. Haught; two sons and a spouse, Matthew and Pattie Haught, of Creedmoor, N.C., and Mitchell Haught, of Fairmont; three daughters and two spouses, Valinda and Bob Loy, Valecia and Jerry Filler, and Vanessa Roque , all of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Jerry and Jonell Roque, Kristin Haught George, and Jonathan, Joshua, Andrew and Mitchell J. Haught Jr.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Meadowdale United Methodist Church, H&H Chapel, Mount Harmony Road, with the Revs. Barney Snowdon and Thomas Shepard officiating.
