Mrs. Ruth E. Hawk, 92, a lifetime resident of Kunkletown, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 9, in her home.
Ruth was the loving wife of the late George F. Hawk, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1970.
Born in Aquashicola, she was a daughter of the late Nathan W. and Mabel (George) Hawk.
She was instrumental in her husband's business with his partners in the development of Kingswood Lake in Kunkletown and Pleasant View Lakes in Gilbert. She was supportive in all of their business ventures.
Ruth was a member of St. Matthew United Church of Christ in Kunkletown.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor and had the kindest heart in the world and would do anything for anyone. Ruth's motto was Love Thy Neighbor.
We have been blessed with the presence of Ruth in our lives and she will be deeply missed by her loving daughters: Lillian Leslie of Kunkletown, LaRue, wife of Harold Altemose of Effort, and Lorraine, wife of Barry Stroup of Palmerton.
She shared a special bond with her sister, Viola Gower of Palmerton; and brother, Wilbert Hawk of Effort.
Ruth was a kind and loving grandmother to her six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dean Leslie Jr.; a great grandson, Michael P. Hoover; a sister, Mildred Gower; and a brother, Walter Hawk.
