The Gilroy Dispatch, September 26, 1935:
Pioneer Asks to Rest Here
One of Gilroy's earliest born white children, daughter of one of the valley's original settler families, will come back to her native heath for the last long rest tomorrow, when the burial of Mrs. B. F. Edgar, 67, of Oakland, will be held in the Masons and Oddfellows cemetery Friday afternoon.
(Christian Church services will be held at 2:30 p.m.)
Mrs. Edgar was formerly Mrs. Harvey Fisher, of Gilroy, and was born Seralda Haun, and was last but one of eleven sons and daughters of that sturdy old pioneer family the Zimry Hauns, of the old Farmer Ranch on Bodfish Canyon Road, now known as the Ed Scagliotti Rancy.
She died in her Oakland home yesterday morning, requesting that she be buried amid the scenes of her childhood and young womanhood. Rev. F. C. Zimmerman will conduct services at the Christian church and at the graveside.
Youngest of 11 children of the Zimry Hauns, a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Angel, of Mesa Grande, near San Diego, is the last of her pioneer line, altho [sic] her husband and several nephews and nieces still survive her.
