Eva Fair
Decatur- Eva H. Fair, 95, former Wood River resident for 52 years, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Friday, June 11, 1999, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Born July 18, 1903, in Bluff City, she was a daughter of the late David and Lena (Summers) Hatfield.
She married Hugh Fair in 1948. He died in 1988.
She was a member of Wood River Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Wood River Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Lois Hofstetter of Decatur; a sister Lydia Fair of Godfrey; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons; Robert Braughton and Jack Braughton; a daughter, Mickey Hart; a grandchild; five brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, with Coy Siddall officiating.
Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
