Aurora, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother, Newell John Hatch, age 73, died suddenly and very unexpectedly, October 5, 2013 in Cedar City, Utah.

He was born October 30, 1939 in Aurora, a son of Lloyd Ceral and Nellie Harding Hatch. He graduated from North Sevier High School, Class of 1957.

In his early years, Newell was a horse jockey. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Mecham, January 7, 1961 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, January 7, 2000.

Newell was a welder by trade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and four wheeling, can collecting, and enjoyed collecting antiques. He loved relentless teasing!!! Newell loved his family and he will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his mother, Nellie Hatch of Salina; his beloved wife, Mary Ann of Aurora; children: Janeen and Lee R. Sorensen of Fairview; Shelley and Joey Carlson of Lehi; Cami and Daren Lovell of Enoch; John and Celest Hatch of Riverton; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Ronald and Jerrie Hatch of West Valley City; Jarvis and Cathy Hatch of Clifton, Colorado; David and Carol Hatch of Heber City; Michael and Kim Hatch of Brigham City; Scott and Janet Hatch of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd C. Hatch.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
