Isabelle Dora Hatch Brown, 82, of Village Blvd. North, Baldwinsville, passed away Friday morning, November 5, at Loretto in Syracuse. Isabelle, the eldest daughter of eight children of James Bill and Ethel Failing Hatch, was born March 20, 1928, in Lorraine and spent most of her youth in the Mannsville/ Belleville area. After graduating from Belleville Central School, Isabelle went to work for New York Telephone Company as a telephone operator. Isabelle became a wife and mother of five children, returning to work for AT&T as a telephone operator, trainer and supervisor after her youngest started school. She retired from AT&T in 1989. Isabelle is survived by her five children, Michael Brown of Baldwinsville, Lucinda Shepard of Franklin, VA, Jacalyn Hatch Brown of Kissimmee, FL, Marcus Brown of Baldwinsville and Stacey Conte of Liverpool; 17 grandchildren; 25 1/2 great- grandchildren; three siblings, Beverly Hawkins of Adams, Marvin of Mt. Washington, KY, and Jeanette Beamer of Woodville; 18 nephews and nieces; many grandnephews and grandnieces. Isabelle was well-known for her love of family and generous nature. She leaves behind a great many friends and family who love her very much. She was the greatest Grandma Brown ever. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, 7883 NYS Route 289, Belleville. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 8, at the funeral home. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
