Pamela Hatch, 44, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2015 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, surrounded by family from complications due to Dermatomyositis.
She was born on June 21, 1970 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Twila Batt Thompson. When she was ten days old, Pam was brought to the parents that raised her as their own, Marvin Russel Hatch and Darlene Shuldberg Hatch.
She was born with a heart condition that should have taken her life in the first few weeks of life, but somehow she fought through it and overcame her problems and was declared healthy after about two years. At that point, Marvin and Darlene were given the opportunity to adopt her as their own.
Pam was born with thick, beautiful hair that everyone was jealous of. She was always a happy baby that never failed to entertain her brothers and parents. Her chubby cheeked face made her look like an angel. As Pam grew, she had other medical issues, but they never stopped her doing what she wanted. She was very independent when it came to making decisions.
She spent most of her life in Blackfoot and attended Blackfoot High School. She traveled to Europe after high school and worked as a nanny in Florida, North Carolina and New York. She worked at several potato production facilities in the area, Blackfoot Medical Center, ISU Credit Union and eventually found herself working at the Fort Hall Casino as a dispatcher. She worked alongside her aunt and other friends and family. Pam really enjoyed the work.
Pam loved her family and enjoyed making many memories with them. She loved to shop and buy presents for others. She was a very generous person. She also loved to style her nieces hair. No one could braid hair as fast and as tight as Pam. She was the only girl in a family of hard-hitting boys, but she was probably the toughest one of them all. Nobody dared to mess with her. Pam had a great smile and infectious laugh that everyone in Blackfoot and at the Country Life Care Center will definitely miss.
Her pride and joy was her son, Tyler Hatch; and his two beautiful granddaughters, Meah and Lydia. They were always on her mind.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and relied on her faith.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home and again from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday before the service.
