Jean Harvey Baker, 87, of Greensburg, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. She was born July 29, 1921, in Dunbar, a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Minnie B. Miller Harvey.
She formerly worked for the Agriculture Department as a program assistant. She enjoyed music and was the church organist and choir director at Trinity United Methodist Church in Greensburg from 1985 until 1998.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1976; and a brother, Arthur, in 1973. She is survived by three children, Bonnie Baker, of Greensburg, Mrs. Barbara Lang and husband, Ted, of Pittsburgh, and Dr. Mark Baker and wife, DeNise, of Butler; and six grandchildren, Dr. Courtney Baker, Abigail Baker, Mrs. Crystal Lang Chubeck, Mark Lang, John Lang and Ted Lang. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary Lou Holder, of Oviedo, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Brian and Alexia Chubeck; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, the hour of service, with the Rev. John Duvall officiating. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
