Frances Ann Hartz Oct. 24, 1910 - Sept. 22, 2007 If one's life is measured by the number of friends and lives that are touched, then Frances Hartz's life was full and complete. She was born in Gregory, South Dakota, where she met the love of her life, Fred Hartz. Together they were frontier farmers, raised five children, spread their love to two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, weathered the good times as well as the bad. Frances' love was shared through her membership in Catholic Daughters, Legion of Mary, Golden Fellowship, Altar Society and her Thursday Night Card Club. She was a long standing member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is greeted in death by her husband of 67 years, Fred Hartz. She will be remembered and missed by her sons, Larry Hartz and wife, Maria of Chula Vista, CA, and Father Jerry Hartz of Bakersfield; her daughters, Sister Mary Ann Hartz, OSF of Frankfort, IL, Sister Dorothy Hartz, OSF of Dubuque, IA, and Agnes Burke and husband, Tom of Bakersfield; her grandchildren include, Tim Burke and his daughters, Kennedy and Michaela of Bakersfield and Julie Burke of Bakersfield. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Laughlin and his staff for all their kindnesses to Frances, as well as Optimal Hospice for their care and concern, and to all of her numerous friends for their never ending love and support. She was determined and feisty to the end. "It takes life to love life." Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Thursday, September 27, at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help beginning at 7:30 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 28, with a viewing scheduled from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. Father Jerry Hartz will officiate; Msgr. Michael Braun and Father Robert Wenzinger will concelebrate the Mass. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincente de Paul, on Baker Street, in the name of Frances Hartz. Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary
